Standardized Testing, Teacher Qualifications
The District is committed to providing challenging and enriching learning experiences for all students. Our goal is to help children recognize, develop, and use their talents and abilities. Classroom assessments are used to evaluate curriculum and instructional practices and provide progress information to students, educators, and parents. The District participates in State-mandated testing prescribed by the Illinois State Board of Education. A parent/guardian may request, and the District will provide in a timely manner, information regarding student participation in any assessments mandated by law or District policy, which shall include information on any applicable right you may have to opt your student out of such assessment.
Title I funding requires the District to notify parents that they may request the professional qualifications of the child’s classroom teachers. As required by law, parents will be notified if their child has been taught for four or more consecutive weeks by a teacher who is not highly qualified.
